A bolt pattern, or lug pattern, refers to the studs you mount your wheel to on each corner of your vehicle. The bolt pattern measurement is simply the number of lugs and the distance between opposite wheel studs. The distance is measured differently depending on the layout.
For example, if your wheels had 4 lugs and the bolts were 100mm apart, the bolt pattern would be 4 x 100mm.
